HR EXCELLENCE AWARDS GALA 2017

The 9th edition of the HR Excellence Awards Gala will take place on April 6th 2017, at Biavati, in Bucharest.
 
The Gala is one of the most prestigious HR event of the year, the only event that acknowledges and awards excellence in HR and people management.
 
 
This year, at the 9th edition of the Gala, Lynda Gratton, Professor of Management Practice la London Business School, will be our Honorific Chairman of the Jury and she will select the winner for a special award - Lynda Gratton Award of Future-Proofing HR
 
 
Also on April 6th, before the awards ceremony, Lynda Gratton will hold  a Master Class on the topic of "The Future of Work and The Future of HR" – please find more information about this session here. 
 
 
Another new aspect of this edition of the Excellence Awards Gala is the fact that we will have a special jury composed of representatives of the Generation Z.
 
We continue to offer different awards related to the size of the organization on every HR projects category. Therefore, we will award companies with a maximum of 499 employees and companies with over 500 employees. We wish to recognize not only the large organizations with complex HR processes, but also the projects implemented in smaller companies that have a proven impact in the business.
 
Please find below the categories we will award this year: 4 categories of HR projects and 3 categories for General Management. You can find a detailed description of the categories and the application form in the Applicant Guide [available only in Romanian].

The best projects in the HR Strategy category will enter in the competition for the Special Award: Lynda Gratton Award of Future-Proofing HR
 
The awards for the “CEO-HR Team of the Year” will be awarded on the basis of the information provided in the application forms for the HR projects categories. We will reward the CEO-HR teams that proved a successful collaboration not only in the project described in the application, but also in the projects and initiatives that are important for the business.

Evaluation Process

Stage 1 – The evaluation of the HR Projects by the specialists jury
 
After the project submission period, the HR Club team will gather the specialists jury according to the following rules:
  • The company that they represent does not have any applications submitted in the competition
  • They are HR practitioners (Directors/Managers of an HR department), HR Club members with at least 10 years of experience in the HR field
They will evaluate every application and rate them according to the established evaluation criteria. Every application will be evaluated by at least 4 members of the jury. After adding up the points granted by all of the jury members, for every category we will have a short lists of 6-8 projects that will be included in the second stage of the judging process. The projects’ short list is not made public.
 
The specialists jury will also evaluate and decide upon the winners of the General Management category.
 
Stage 2 – The evaluation of the projects on the short list by the CEO jury
 
In this stage, the jury made up of representatives of the business environment – General Managers and entrepreneurs from the biggest companies in Romania, will receive the short listed projects on every category of HR projects from the specialists’ jury and unanimously decide upon a maximum of three winners for each category and possible finalists.
 
In the same time, Lynda Gratton will evaluate the most valuable projects submitted in the HR strategy category and will choose a winner for the Lynda Gratton Award of Future-Proofing HR.

Honorific Chairman of the Jury

Lynda Gratton is a Professor of Management Practice at London Business School where she directs the program ‘Human Resource Strategy in Transforming Companies’ – considered the world’s leading program on human resources. For over seven years she has led the Future of Work Consortium which has brought executives from close to 100 companies together both virtually and on a bespoke collaborative platform. Over the last 20 years Lynda has written extensively about the interface between people and organisations.

Her eight books cover the link between business and HR strategy (Living Strategy), the new ways of working (The Democratic Enterprise), the rise of complex collaboration (Hot Spots and Glow) and the impact of a changing world on employment and work (The Shift). In 2012 The Shift received the business book of the year award in Japan and has been translated into more than 15 languages. In 2015 The Key won the CMI Management Book of the Year. This book looks at the impact of the changing world on corporate practices and processes and on leadership. Lynda’s work has been acknowledged globally – she has won the Tata prize in India; in the US she has been named as the annual Fellow of NAHR and won the CCL prize; whilst in Australia she has won the HR prize. Lynda is a Fellow of the World Economic Forum and has chaired the WEF Council of Leadership. She has served as a judge on the FT Business Book of the Year panel, chairs the Drucker prize panel and is on the governing body of London Business School.   

The jury of specialists and CEO jury will be announced at a later date. The jury will be composed of HR practitioners (Directors / Managers of a department of human resources), members of the HR Club with at least 10 years of experience in human resources, and representatives of the business sector - general managers and entrepreneurs from the largest companies in Romania. The basic rule to be followed in selecting the jury members - their companies can not have projects submitted in the competition in 2017;
