HR Excellence Awards Gala 2018

The 10th edition of the HR Excellence Awards Gala will take place on April 4th 2018, in Bucharest.

This year, at the 10th edition of the Gala, Gianpiero Petriglieri, Professor of Organisational Behaviour at INSEAD, will select the winner for a special award: Developing Trustworthy Leaders Award.

Also on April 4th, before the awards ceremony, Gianpiero Petriglieri will hold  a Master Class on the topic "Competence is not enough: Developing Trustworthy Leaders in the Age of Nomadic Professionalism" – please find more information about this session here. 

We continue to offer different awards related to the size of the organization on every HR projects category. Therefore, we will award companies with a maximum of 499 employees and companies with over 500 employees. We wish to recognize not only the large organizations with complex HR processes, but also the projects implemented in smaller companies that have a proven impact in the business.

Please find below the categories we will award this year: 4 categories of HR projects and 3 categories for General Management. You can find a detailed description of the categories and the application form in the Applicant Guide [available only in Romanian].

       

HR Projects categories in 2018

1. Recruitment and Selection – includes projects on recruitment, internship, induction etc.
 
2. Reward and Performance Management – includes projects on performance evaluation, payroll, job grading etc.
 
3. Learning and Development – includes projects on training, coaching, mentoring, career plans, talent management, succession planning etc.
 
4. HR Strategy – includes projects on HR – strategic partner, employer branding, engagement, organizational design, cultural change, social dialogue etc.
 
Special award offered by Gianpiero Petriglieri: Developing Trustworthy Leaders Award
 
General Management categories:
 
1. Manager of the Year
 
2. CEO – HR Team of the Year – companies with less than 499 employees 
 
3. CEO – HR Team of the Year – companies with over 500 employees
 
The best projects in the Learning&Develoment and the HR Strategy category will enter in the competition for the Special award offered by Gianpiero Petriglieri: Developing Trustworthy Leaders Award.
 
The awards for the “CEO-HR Team of the Year” will be awarded on the basis of the information provided in the application forms for the HR projects categories. We will reward the CEO-HR teams that proved a successful collaboration not only in the project described in the application, but also in the projects and initiatives that are important for the business.

In times of great turbulence in business and society at large, we ask ourselves how should we select, develop, and exercise leadership in a world that longs for leaders and mistrusts them at the same time? To answer that question, we must rethink the meaning and practice of leading—and learning—for the contemporary workplace.

In this highly interactive masterclass, Gianpiero Petriglieri will discuss about:

  • the differences between the ages of corporate citizenship and nomadic professionalism
  • the sources of, and potential solutions to, the erosion of meaning and trust in the workplace
  • the history of successful, but no longer adequate, leadership images and development practices
  • the crucial role of HR and L&D professionals in cultivating trustworthy leadership
  • the HR and L&D strategies and practices that foster the development of such leadership

Evaluation Process

Stage 1 – The evaluation of the HR Projects by the specialists jury
 
After the project submission period, the HR Club team will gather the specialists jury according to the following rules:
  • The company that they represent does not have any applications submitted in the competition
  • They are HR practitioners (Directors/Managers of an HR department), HR Club members with at least 10 years of experience in the HR field
They will evaluate every application and rate them according to the established evaluation criteria. Every application will be evaluated by at least 4 members of the jury. After adding up the points granted by all of the jury members, for every category we will have a short lists of 6-8 projects that will be included in the second stage of the judging process. The projects’ short list is not made public.
 
The specialists jury will also evaluate and decide upon the winners of the General Management category.
 
Stage 2 – The evaluation of the projects on the short list by the CEO jury
 
In this stage, the jury made up of representatives of the business environment – General Managers and entrepreneurs from the biggest companies in Romania, will receive the short listed projects on every category of HR projects from the specialists’ jury and unanimously decide upon a maximum of three winners for each category and possible finalists.
 
At the same time, Gianpiero Petriglieri will evaluate the most valuable projects submitted in the HR strategy category and will choose a winner for the Gianpiero Petriglieri Award for Developing Trustworthy Leaders.
