Strategic People Planning

Ruxandra Stoian, Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers Russia

How can you ensure that you always  have the right people
in the right positions with the right skills at the right time?

Senior Executives are demanding processes that “hardwire”
People Delivery to corporate strategy reliably and cost-effectively in a real-world environment .

The Strategic People Planning bridges the gap between workforce demand and supply by giving senior executives greater control over their people issues and increased confidence that resourcing is fully aligned to business strategic priorities and related risk management is embedded within the line processes.

Intelligent right-sizing

Adam King, Director, Organisation Design, Deloitte

As organisations respond to the economic downturn, how can you, as business leaders ensure that you achieve intended organisational outcomes with the right leadership and capabilities and how you can proactively adapt your organisation’s size and shape to deliver more – with less. So how does an organisation find the right balance between significant headcount reduction and sustained operational performance? The intelligent right-sizing approach will help you to protect the core skills and knowledge that will see your business through these difficult market conditions.

It involves:

  • Identifying areas of your business where reductions are most appropriate.
  • Managing operational trade-offs between each functional area.
  • Understanding the sustainability of proposed headcount reductions.
  • Addressing the specific internal and external drivers that impact your organisation.
  • Looking beyond the immediate cost savings and taking into consideration your wider strategic agenda.
